At first, when Trump was elected by the US people, many thought that, well, the American people had voted for this guy and his team, so now they get what they asked for. But there are at least two problems with that analysis. First, the elections were far from perfect, and less so in the times of toxic networks, including Google, Facebook and Twitter, which facilitate mass manipulation and a so to say rigged electoral results. Of course this is worsened by the enormous amounts of money that circulates in these campaigns and contributions by Elon Musk in the area of 250 million dollar alone.
But the second problem with that analysis is what we started witnessing from the day of the presidential inauguration. Trump and his billionaire team has started to dismantle the public administration and the rule of law with a ruthless, autocratic agenda. This is most clear when you look at the role of Elon Musk, who, has set up his DOGE team moving into the US Treasury, USAID etc. Bruce Schneier and Davi Ottenheimer explain it very well in what way the DOGE team is destroying the most important security protocols and compromising systems in an article in Foreign Policy:
https://archive.ph/lSHkJIn the process, they're potentially (or should I say: most probably) committing one of the greatest highly sensitive data robberies of the century. No doubt that Mr Musk and his consortium will make a shitload of money. But the problem is the destruction of carefully crafted processes, systems and humans working for and relying on them. This is not easily recovered, if ever. And it doesn't help us on the transition path to recover a habitable planet. Solidarity with the American people, not only the US, but also all Latin Americans and all others being victimised by these plutocrats. In the end, they're waging a war against all 99,9% of the people. Be sure, we fight back.
