MINI BIO

Wouter Tebbens is an engineer turned activist, working on digital democratisation, self-organisation and cooperative community building. He has set up, directed and contributed to several collective endeavours in Amsterdam, Barcelona and internationally. He is co-founder of the Free Knowledge Institute, The Things Network Catalonia, the femProcomuns cooperative, the Online Meeting Cooperative. Together with the municipality of Barcelona he has initiated La Comunificadora, a social entrepreneurship programme to support the creation of cooperative commons businesses. He has contributed to SomEnergia, has worked with the municipality of Amsterdam to co-produce the Cities for Change Conference, has been director of the PublicSpaces foundation in the Netherlands, is founding member of the Display Europe cooperative media network and fellow of Commons Network.
